Homework may be set throughout the week. The children should bring in their Home/School Records everyday so that they can record any homework.

Homework will usually be as follows:

Monday -  Spellings which should be learnt over the week for a test the following Monday. It is important that the children understand what the words mean and how to use them in their work as well as learning how to spell them correctly.

Times tables – children will be told on a Monday which times tables we are focusing on during the week and these will be tested on a Friday.

Friday –  Numeracy to consolidate work covered during the week and / or a sheet of Science or English to link in with the weeks work as appropriate. This needs to be completed and returned by Wednesday.

Topic / RE / Art etc will be given when appropriate.

Any work not completed during lesson time may also be sent home to finish off for the next day.

In addition children should do at least 10 minutes reading every night and this should be recorded in the Home/School Record. Please listen to your child read at least three times per week and sign / initial next to the pages they have read in the Home/School Record.

Home/School Record
Please check and sign the Home/School Record each week. Sign at the bottom of the page to acknowledge the homework given to your child during the week and so I know you have read any additional comments made. Please feel free to write notes or comments to me in the Home/School Record as it is designed to be a two way communication book. I will check them every Friday.

Monday and Wednesday will be our P.E. days for this half term and the children will need an outdoor kit including sweatshirt and trainers. Please ensure that your child has their indoor kit as well, in case of bad weather.

All jewellery, including earrings should be removed for P.E. lessons. Children that cannot remove their own earrings should take them out at home beforehand.
