Reception Summer Term Overview
Class Trip to 'Call of The Wild' - May 2025
Reception's Roarsome Half Term!
This half term, our Reception children have been diving into the fascinating worlds of dinosaurs and minibeasts! Through a variety of fun, hands-on, and educational activities, the children explored these incredible creatures — from the mighty giants of the past to the tiny wonders living all around us today.
A standout moment of the term was our exciting trip to Call of the Wild Zoo. There, the children had the opportunity to get up close with a range of animals and learn all about their habitats. It was a truly engaging experience that brought their classroom learning vividly to life!
Another highlight was a creative collaboration with our Year 6 buddies, where we made minibeasts out of fruit! It was a fantastic opportunity for teamwork, creativity, and a healthy snack all in one.
We're so proud of how curious and enthusiastic the children have been throughout this topic — what a brilliant half term of discovery!
Planting Cress Seeds - March 2025
In Reception we have been learning how plants grow. We decided that the best way to see how plants grow was to grow some ourselves! Each child planted their own cress seeds, and we are waiting to see how long it takes them to grow.
