Our Curriculum

At St Francis Primary School, our curriculum is carefully designed and planned to ensure depth, breadth and ambition for every pupil. We define progress as the widening and deepening of essential knowledge, skills, understanding and learning behaviours. Learning is structured so that pupils revisit and practise key skills over time, enabling them to develop deep understanding and apply their learning confidently across all areas of the curriculum.

Our curriculum is shaped by our pupils’ backgrounds, experiences and needs, and is underpinned by three key priorities that run through every subject: Aspirations, Initiative and Environment. Through rich and meaningful learning experiences, we aim to broaden horizons, develop independent learners and help pupils understand their responsibilities to their local and global communities.
