Boys from Years 5 and 6 represented our school brilliantly at the Maldon Schools Sports Partnership event held at Beacon Hill Rovers. Throughout the tournament, the team showcased outstanding teamwork, determination, and impressive football skills. Their hard work and positive spirit paid off as they secured a fantastic 2nd place finish! We are extremely proud of their effort, sportsmanship, and the way they represented our school. Well done, boys!

Rugby - October 2025

This half term, selected girls from Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 took part in an all-girls rugby tournament held at Maldon Rugby Club. The Year 3/4 team played five impressive matches, while the Year 5/6 team competed in six. Throughout the day, the girls demonstrated excellent teamwork, coordination, and determination. The event provided a valuable opportunity for them to further develop their physical skills and to gain confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and all the girls should be very proud of their efforts and achievements.

Cricket

Our Years 5 and 6 pupils recently took part in an exciting KS2 Kwik Cricket tournament, hosted by Maldon Cricket Club, under perfect summer weather. The children showed great enthusiasm and teamwork, with skills honed during weekly school coaching sessions clearly on display. Their hard work and dedication paid off with some fantastic performances throughout the day. Year 6 delivered an outstanding performance, winning all of their games and scoring the most runs overall to take home the tournament victory. It was a brilliant day of sport, fun, and team spirit – a true celebration of the cricketing progress made by all our pupils this year.

Year 5 and 6 Girls’ Football Tournament

Our Year 5 and 6 girls’ football team did St Francis Primary School proud in a recent after-school tournament. With a fantastic mix of enthusiasm, talent and teamwork, the girls played with great skill and determination throughout the competition.

The tournament has now moved into a league format, with our team competing alongside other local primary schools from Maldon and Heybridge. We’re excited to see how the league develops and can’t wait for the next match to find out where our team stands.

Well done to all the players — you showed brilliant sportsmanship and team spirit!

 3rd April 2025

We were incredibly proud to watch our Year 5 football team compete in the Maldon Year 5/6 tournament yesterday. The team showed fantastic determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Their passing was excellent, and our goalkeepers made some super saves.  We also saw some brilliant goals that highlighted the team’s effort. Well done to all the players for their hard work—keep it up! A special thanks to Mr Pilgrim for coaching the team and Mr Peear for refereeing the tournament.

3rd March 2025

We were delighted to be invited to a Year 5 friendly football match hosted by All Saints School on Monday 3rd March. We were so proud of the children’s efforts, their enthusiasm, and their fantastic sportsmanship even though the match didn't go our way. Well done to the whole team!

Cross Country

We were incredibly proud to host a cross-country event for local Maldon Schools and even prouder of all the children who took part. It was fantastic to see their determination and enthusiasm as they tackled the course. Years 3 and 4 showed great effort and stamina - completing 2.5 laps of the field, while Years 5 and 6 demonstrated resilience and perseverance - running 3.5 laps. Well done to all involved!
