Subsidiarity

Meet our mascot for Subsidiarity, Sid the Sheep, reminding us that everyone should have a say.

Below are some of the ways we put this principle into action every day:

Our pupil leadership teams ensure every child has a meaningful voice in shaping school life. Through groups such as the School Council, Eco‑Team  pupils share ideas, make decisions, and help lead improvements across the school.

Children help plan and lead worship, choosing readings, writing prayers, preparing sacred spaces, and contributing to Celebrations of the Word. Their ideas and experiences shape the faith life of the school.

Class discussions, circle time, and PSHE sessions give pupils regular opportunities to express their thoughts and influence how the class community works. Children learn that their opinions are valued and that they can help solve problems together.

Teachers and governors gather pupil feedback on learning, wellbeing, and school experiences, ensuring children help shape their own education. Through surveys, reflection activities, and learning conversations, pupils influence topics, suggest improvements, and reflect on what helps them learn best.
